Day of Champions is a free, volunteer-supported sporting event designed for students with disabilities.
Students with disabilities walk through a tunnel of cheering peers as they take to the field for a day of sports.
Hundreds of students from Yelm Community Schools participated in modified track and field stations, including
the high jump, javelin throw, and relay races; ultimately, the biggest benefit for students was an opportunity to
shine in a championship atmosphere. Additionally, participating students are provided a Day of Champions T-
shirts, commemorative medals, and sack lunch.
The Day of Champions event was made possible because of the generous contributions of individuals like
